This blended top makes a warm brown tweed with flecks of bright yellow and orange throughout it. It is composed of primarily Blue-Faced Leicester wool which is a long wool originating from Britain. The fleece from this breed is hard-wearing but soft and has a lot of loft to it. A yarn made from this blend will likely also be hard-wearing but will have it's own natural softness especially with the merino blended in it.
With both of these in mind, it would spin into a really nice sock yarn - softness, lot's of strength and lots of loft to trap that warm air!
What is a tweed? It is a fabric made from a yarn that has flecks of colour in it. Using a blend like this is one way you can create your own tweed.
Note: Although we try our best to accurately represent the colours in our photos, differences in monitors could mean that the colour you see on your screen is different from the fibre colour.
