A llama is a camelid, the same family as alpacas and camels. Llama fibre, like many fibre animals, has two coats, an outercoat that sheds water and an undercoat that traps warmth. The llama fibre we carry has been de-haired, meaning the outercoat has been separated and removed from the fibre, leaving the soft, lustrous undercoat.
