Back to Basics: Processing Fleece

So you’ve washed some fleece or found some washed fleece, now what? What can you do to turn it into usable fibre that you can spin or felt? There are several different methods of working with fleece to prepare it so that it is ready for use in spinning or in felting projects. In this hands-on workshop, we will cover the parts of a fleece, fibre prep techniques of teasing, flick carding, hand-carding and combing. We will also work with two different types of wool fleece so that you can compare the difference between them.

 

Prerequisites

This workshop is suitable for absolute beginner fibre artists.
