Most bamboo fibres that you find are made using the viscose process which reduces the fibres into a a pulp and extrudes them. Bast bamboo is made using one of the processes used to process the fibre from other bast plants, such as nettle or flax. Although more labour intensive, this is a less harmful way to process bamboo into fibre.
This fibre is not available for export outside of Canada.
Note: Although we try our best to accurately represent the colours in our photos, differences in monitors could mean that the colour you see on your screen is different from the fibre colour.
